Database: DDFU

The Derwent Drug File (Derwent subscriber file: DRUGU; Derwent non-subscriber file: DDFU) provides references from the worldwide pharmaceutical literature going back through 1983. Companion files, DRUGB and DDFB, contain the data from 1964 - 1982. The Derwent Drug File contains a literature segment as well as the Derwent Drug Registry as a file segment. Derwent Drug Registry is structure-searchable in DRUGU. The database covers all aspects of drug synthesis, development, evaluation, manufacture, and use. The highly focused coverage of the database ensures that all information retrieved is strongly drug-oriented. In addition, the unique combination of biological and chemical information enables searchers to find data on all types of structure-activity relationships.

In addition to bibliographic information, literature records contain Derwent's abstract and extension abstract (in DRUGU only), controlled term indexing, structure codes (DRUGU only), as well as CAS Registry Numbers (R) and Enzyme Commission Numbers where applicable.

The substance records in the registry segment contain common drug and Derwent Drug Registry names, CAS Registry Numbers, indexing terms, structure codes, and displayable and searchable structures (DRUGU only).

Companion literature backfiles are DRUGB and DDFB. This family of databases has formerly been known as "RINGDOC".
