General Information

IP Address Authorization (IPAA) is a way for the STN® computer to recognize your computer's IP address. If your IP address is authenticated by our computer, then you will gain access to STN Easy or STN Easy for Intranets without having to enter an STN login ID and password.

IPAA is a particularly powerful tool for libraries and corporate intranet sites, where controlled access to STN Easy is desired for multiple users, without the need to monitor and maintain a large set of STN loginids and passwords.

When users access the STN Easy home page from an approved IP address, they simply click the Start Your Session button and start searching. Users do not need to enter an STN login ID or password. IPAA access to STN Easy does have some features that differ from standard STN Easy, as explained in the FAQs.

There is no charge for establishing IPAA access to STN Easy or STN Easy for Intranets, although customers must sign up by completing the IPAA Authorization and STN Easy for Intranets Site Administrator Request Form. All other normal charges for using STN Easy apply for customers who access STN Easy or STN Easy for Intranets through IPAA.
